Topparla School
Topparla School was established in 1884. The current school building has been used since 1952. The renovation of the school was completed in 2012.
Our pupils come from the northernmost and northeastern parts of the area of Seinäjoki, all the way from Ylihärmä in Kauhava and Lapua. We operate in the area of seven former school districts. Transportation matters are part of our everyday operations.
Education work at Topparla School started already in 1884. The first teacher was Wilhelmiina Karoliina Vesa from Teisko. Her teaching career in this first location lasted more than 40 years. Miina was an active cultural figure throughout the village.
Today’s Topparla has three basic education classes (grades 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6). There are 54 pupils.
There are 3 teaching staff workers on a daily basis, in addition to a multidisciplinary special education teacher, an itinerant English teacher and a resource teacher.
At our school, we operate in accordance with the Basic Education Act and the city-confirmed curriculum applied to school operations.
We cherish handicrafts, music and expressive skills. In addition, we emphasise a sense of community and friendly consideration for all members of the school community and people visiting our school.
Our school has a lot of activities where older and younger pupils work together.
We are proud to be specifically at Topparla School.
