Smart Connection of Regional Research and Innovation Ecosystems with European R+I programmes

The City of Seinäjoki is a partner in the SMART CON EUROPE project funded by the Interreg Europe program. The project duration is from 1 April 2024 to 30 June 2028.

The goal of the project is to increase the ability of SMEs to utilize more effectively the funding opportunities offered by the EU. In the project the partners exchange their experiences on how these different regions support SMEs in utilizing RDI funding, make peer reviews of different regions, compile good practices and develop operating methods in cooperation. In addition, each project area develops its selected policy instrument, which is for Seinäjoki an ecosystem agreement for innovation activities and its better implementation.

The coordination of the project takes place from Gdansk, Poland, and in total eight partners from six different countries are implementing the project. From Finland, in addition to the City of Seinäjoki, Into Seinäjoki is a project partner as well.
